Today’s Flight Plan
Learning to fly is hard enough. With the time, money and effort required to get it done, there’s a high washout rate and very few people achieve the end result; a pilots license. Can you imagine also going through this process with a “limitation” or “disability” like having the use of just ONE arm.
Well that’s our guest today. Phil is an amputee pilot that lost his arm in a motorcycle accident in his late teens. After a dark time, aviation was a passion that pulled Phil toward his purpose — inspiring others through this tough journey of becoming a pilot with one arm.
Truthfully, we have a ton we can learn from Phil. We can learn a lot about how to control the airplane with less effort, think ahead many more steps, organize our tools in the cockpit better, and overall take a much more natural approach to flying.
This is a long podcast, but it’s worth listening to in its entirety.
Enjoy!
