Have you ever been approaching an airport trying to get the weather, only to have it be silent? Or take a handoff to the next controller and not hear anything when you check in? This one trick can fix that.
Sometimes we can’t hear those radio frequencies from ATC (air traffic control) or from weather stations because we’re either out of range or the antenna or they are obstructed by terrain.
A few minutes of extra preparation can make a big difference when planning ahead for weather or traffic, so having a few tricks you can use with the radios is very helpful.
