AviatorCast Episode 106: Tres Clinton: Flight Instructor | Tailwheel | Floatplanes
Today’s Flight Plan
There are types of flying that few pilots ever do. Getting your tailwheel endorsement and seaplane rating are just a few of them. While tailwheel used to be a norm for all pilots, today it is a novelty. And of course, most of us don’t live near laudable water, so it makes sense that not many people use floatplanes.
Tres Clinton is our guest today talking about both disciplines. He’s in instructor in Burnet, Texas. In fact, I got my tailwheel endorsement from Tres just before I got my CFI. He’s a fantastic instructor and a blast to fly with. The area where he flies is really special and gives a lot of variety for off-airport landings.
So… on this episode we talk a whole lot about float flying, tailwheel, instruction, getting into a career in aviation, and the prospects involved. Learn why Tres chose to be a lifelong instructor vs. the other options out there.
